Effect of parenteral multimineral suplement on open days of meat type cows in llanos orientales

Abstract

The effect of the parenteral multi-mineral supplement of Zincosel Yodado® was evaluated on the weight and the open days in meat type cows. The work was developed in the farm La Esperanza, in Guadalupe, municipality of Puerto Lopez, department of Meta, olombia with 30 cows whose multi-mineral application effects were evaluated. Besides, profile measurements of mineral contents in blood were made to a randomly selected sample of cows from the treatment group. Although this study didn’t show enough ¿evidence to make inferences about the influence of the multi-mineral on the open days of female cows, it was found that the treatment group registered a better breeding performance, while the control group didn’t get the same results because there were some problem cows in this group. Regarding the weight, the control group showed weight loss unlike the treatment group which kept or gained weight, which is an indicator of a good reproductive performance development
