Abstract
Utopia is a program from La Salle University that generates educational opportunities for youth in rural areas of Colombia. This document aims to make an overview of the economic dynamics of the areas of origin of students in the program, in order to make a first approach to the baseline for the construction of the methodology for measuring their impact. By consulting secondary information and conducting surveys, it was concluded that measuring the impact of Utopia should take into account the economic, social and cultural diversity of the municipalities of origin of the students, and that the university-graduate relationship is crucial for monitoring a project whose purpose goes beyond the boundaries of a university campus.
