God, ineludible in the practical order

Abstract

Since modernity man seeks security in life, and the philosophical way of this seeking lies in the possession of truth through reason. This seeking for security through reason is accompanied for a will to power and domain of all things: We decipher them through reason and so we can dominate them. But before we could do so, things are given to us; things ought to be given to us. This is the “be-in-theworld” of Heidegger. There is something before reason itself, the “to exist” in itself. And an intelligence that is a moment of such “to exist”. Intelligence that is, at the same time, to make intelligible and to do. In the doing the existence take all the chances and this is praxis. The praxis occurs in an ethos; through it all action is, finally, ethic. And, when this dimension opens we found the reality of God as the final articulator and as culmination of the process that started from the seeking of security and ended in the discovery of God as the only secure, as the only certainty.
