Abstract
In this text, after stablishing the terms that allow an aproximation of ethics and politics in the context of contemporary thought, we are going to analize, essentially, the western liberal theories. First we’ll analyze the classic liberal theory, also labeled as "individualist liberalism”. In a second moment we’re going to deal with an analysis of the reviews made to “individualist liberalism” by the “solidarist liberalism”. In a third step we’ll approach the lines labeled as “comunitarist”, that would also be linked with the liberal theories. In a fourth moment we’ll deal with the tendency of the “liberal democratic socialism”. We’re going to try to identify the essential characteristics that describe, at least, these trends of the liberalism. We’ll show, in one hand, how these trends coincide in several fundamental points that puts them in the very liberal root. But, also, in the other hand, we’ll show the shades that make that each trend has its own identity.
