Abstract
This paper aims to analyze the new Lasallian educational approach, published in December, 2014, by identifying and discussing the main foundations and presuppositions that may translate into what we know as “the Lasallian educational ideology”. We also aim to discuss the prospects of effectiveness of this document in the educational practice of schools from the La Salle Network in Brazil. It is a theoretical and qualitative study that covers the documentary analysis of the literature search. The data, taken from investigation reports and the analysis of the document on the Lasallian educational approach, were classified according to subject, based on the content analysis technique. The main findings of the investigation were: the need for a creative reading and an updated identity of the institution’s founding principles; curricular organization and respect for plurality and social diversity; planning of educational activities and the search for innovation and excellence in education, and the pivotal role of students in teaching and learning processes.
