Constructing a discipline in social work, University of La Salle, Colombia

Abstract

This article presents the history, current approach, development, production of knowledge and challenges of the research project entitled “Intervention in the construction of the discipline of social work at the University of La Salle, Colombia,” which was created in 1999 at the then Faculty of Social Work, today attached to the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences. Several professors have participated in the development process which allowed to accomplish important achievements; our hope is to nurture and consolidate them through this historical recovery.
