Abstract
Cartesian philosophy originated in the spirit of the XVII century and in the context and environment of the Collège La Flèche where René Descartes was educated. Ran by Jesuits, this institution gave education in the light of the Ratio Studiorum. The French rationalist abandons the teachings of the school, disappointed with the system and content of the knowledge transmitted by most of his masters, and undertakes the task of finding a “method” that gives sufficient elements to answer to the notionsideas that he was elaborating. The present text means to shed some light on the following question, Did Father Denis Mesland teach Cartesian philosophy at the Colegio Máximo Jesuita de la Provincia de Santafé in the XVII century?
