Costa Rica’s Experience in the Document Assessment, Selection and Elimination Processes

Abstract

This article addresses the problem of document evaluation, selection and elimination in Costa Rica, for which the theoretical basis of those processes must be taken into account, particularly in terms of used terminology. An analysis is also made of the impact caused by information technology and communication to ultimately consider the methodology as well as the guiding principles applied to the Costa Rican reality
