Identification of the Sexual Development Parameters Related to the Period of Peripubertal of Males in Guzerat Breed

Abstract

It has been used 191 Guzerat male to study puberty. The animals were reared under extensive conditions and grazing on food and bulky and mineral supplementation. The aim of this study was to identify and describe the reproductive parameters that characterize the period of pre and post puberty in young bulls of Guzerat breed. The animals which showed SC ≥ 19 cm were subjected to semen collection using electro-stimulation ejaculation. Animals on puberty were considered those who had ejaculated at least one motile sperm. The frequencies of pubertal bulls by age group were 7.4% for the age group of 12-16 months, 41.23% of 16-20 months, 68% of 20-24 months of age. The present study demonstrated that young Guzerat bulls created on pasture could reach puberty at an average age of 19.6 months of age, 250, 6 kg, 22.8 cm scrotal circumference and average volume of 284.7 cm3 of testicular volume.
