Meditate to think the concept democracy of the era of the empire

Abstract

This paper is derived from the debate carried out by an international research group called “Youth and New Political Practices in Latin America”. I introduce different postures about democracy which implies going deeper on Modern Democracy, and thinking of the new forms of this concept from categories related to philosophical and sociological reflections. In these terms, I express some focuses that allow me to analyze this issue: First, democracy as a construction without a predetermined end; second, multitude as a democracy form; and third, new subjects who resist the power of the new empire.
