Considerations on Social Spending

Abstract

This paper presents a reflection on the efforts of resource allocations of public spending through the General Budget of the Nation for dealing with social programs, which is called public social spending (PSS) in the Colombian system, and which seeks to complement other visions focused on performance indicators for specific sectors. This reflection on the PSS numbers in just over ten years in Colombia allows measuring this type of expenditure within the total public expenditure in accordance with the functions defined by the State.
