Abstract
This paper is part of the conceptual reference of the ongoing research: “the experience of live alone: single person households` meanings and dynamics”. Addresses the issue of single person households, taking in account its structural factors, sociopolitical and demographics that has contributed to the transformation and formation of this kind of households. It places these changes in modernity, relating the processes of individualization as part of this epoch. On the other hand highlights features and effective relationships of these households, responding to need to develop an approach for comprehension.
