Abstract
This article addresses the perception of families in situations of poverty who participated in productive projects, the main focus of which was income generation in order to improve the quality of life of families involved. Starting from the income and basic needs categories, the factors that have an influence on whether or not families participating in this type of projects succeed in stabilizing their income are identified, as is the type of needs met with that income. This exercise is carried out from the qualitative methodology. The main technique used is the semi-structured interview, through which perceptions and motivations for participating in the projects are revealed, as well as its effects on their income and the satisfaction of basic needs. The interviewed population was selected according to a sample by defined standard cases, in accordance with the tendency arising from income generation, based on participation in productive projects.
