Andean Being and Acting and the Environmental Crisis

Abstract

The paper aims to identify the contribution of Andean thought as an alternative solution to the current ecological crisis. The analysis performed evidences the existence of an alternative rationality to the western technological paradigm in Andean thought. Likewise, it is significantly highlighted how epistemological reflections are being made in Latin America that seriously question the traditional conception of science and technology. From this point, intercultural philosophy is proposed as a way to establish a polylogue (multiple dialogue) between traditional views and other disciplines that make it possible to structure another way of relating to other human beings and nature in order to mitigate the environmental impact of human actions.
