On the Trail of a Childhood under Investigation: Remembering María Cristina Salazar

Abstract

María Cristina Torrado, renowned researcher and, first and foremost, a teacher devoted to working for children, is one of the leaders of the Observatorio de Infancia de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia. A quality professional and heartfelt friend, she told us about what the legacy of Maria Cristina Salaz has meant, championed by the recognition of children’s rights, the importance of research in and on children as well as the constant concern for visualizing the needs of those less fortunate and invisible to our society. Through the voice of our companion and friend, the following account evokes her thoughts, stories and teachings about research on childhood. It is definitely an academic, sensible and hopeful reunion.
