Abstract
This article presents an analysis compilation to show some initiatives by the Colombian business sector regarding the social responsibility. These signs are put in practice in business programmes that have been adopted as a public policy, and some social interventions from the private sector that can be classified in terms of served population, needs (topics), and its structure. It also uses Gutierrez, Avella and Villar (2006) analysis where some expressions of social responsibility during 20th century in Colombia are presented; this allows the reader to make a historical analysis of several initiatives and contributions of the entrepreneurship in this subject. The final reflection is isolated efforts that big businesses make to be socially responsible. But what could probably happen if these efforts would stop as individual and pressing, and become as contributions to the country development in public and private terms?
