Abstract
The exploitation of stony aggregates generates some excesses that do not satisfy the quality regulations demanded for a granulate base. For this reason, bases stabilized with modified asphalt emulsions have been used, which improve the characteristics of the stony aggregate and consequently they allow its use in pavements bearing high stress. The purpose of this research is to design a base stabilized with modified asphalt emulsion using the waste material of the Vista Hermosa quarry, located in Mondoñedo, Bogotá, Colombia. Such material does not fulfill all the quality parameters demanded by the National Institute of Roads (Spanish acronym INVIAS) regulations, for pavements under high stress
