Tendencias y Retos

Abstract

The article presents the characteristics of the emotional bond between parents and children, one of the dimensions addressed in an investigation carried out with children between the ages of 7 and 12 in the Comuna 8 located in Sincelejo, Sucre, Colombia. The purpose was to reveal quality of life indicators related to the coexistence with parents or caretakers, the establishment of rules, forms of reprimands, participation in the resolution of family issues, time spent with the family and setting of schedules to carry out everyday activities. The investigation used a non-experimental descriptive design focused on complementarity. In general, there is a transgression of rules, rigid authority models, presence of domestic violence and permanent absence of parents in the raising and care process, damaging the well-being of the children.
