Abstract
Richard Rorty was born in october the 4th, 1931, and died in june the 8th, 2007. He was a proffesor of philosophy in the university of Wellesley and in Princeton. He resigned his post in Princeton in 1983 in order to take the charge of proffesor of humanities in the University of Virginia, and subsequently, of compared literature in the University of Stanford. He died of pancreas cancer, as Jacques Derrida, one of his most prominent peers about the european philosophy.
