Ideas on the Responsibility of Education in the Contemporary Context

Abstract

In the context of the crisis of the contemporary world, which has economic, ecological and social variables, education is once again submitted for evaluation, given its dynamic, eclectic and powerful character. To think about education repeatedly and endlessly is the duty of the extended school community, that is, not just the professors and intellectuals in charge of rethinking models and strategies, but all actors involved in educational processes in one way or another. Thus, the whole society redefines its own interests regarding the purposes of training for their students, the citizen-subject model aimed for, the type of metabolism between school, college, work and progress, among other elements of an expanded framework defining the role of education in the contemporary context. Accordingly, in order to investigate these collaborative practices within the concept of responsibility in education, a qualitative methodology is used, supported on the theory based on the axial and selective methodological framework, aimed at reflecting on the social and contemporary implications of responsibility in contemporary contexts.
