Abstract
This article presents the results of the research project entitled “Development Level of the Quality Management System (QMS) under NTC ISO 9001 in potato processing SMEs in Bogota”. It includes the contextualization of the project as well as the methodology for collecting and analyzing the information of the companies studied. The results are subsequently presented, which account for the general characteristics of potato processing SMEs in Bogotá (number of employees, level of training and the existence of organizational structure, etc.), for the level of development of the quality management system in potato processing SMEs that took part in the research, and the benefits of development and the QMS certification, according to three major companies located in Bogota. Finally, the discussion of the results is presented, which include conclusions about the research
