Abstract
<p>This article aims to present basic characteristics of family business in wood, furniture, plants and flowers industries in the city, based on a review of specialized information sources as: Proexport, Manufacture annual survey, Ministerio de Comercio Exterior, as a basic item to determine key points for establishing growth and development strategies. This objective is developed through an initial characterization of studied sectors in order to design a survey-interview for small and medium companies (Pymes) with a family business profile, all of them located in the city. These investigation project results are reflected on some analysis correspondent to some characteristics evaluated in the investigation of studied companies. Likewise, an integral management model or value chain (based on quality management systems) is proposed looking for a support in the maintenance and growth of Family Business in the city in first place, but extendable to the rest in the country according to the characteristics in each sector and region particularly.</p>
