Analysis of Alternatives in an Hydra ulic Model to Mitigate the Erosion Caused by Chocho River

Abstract

This research study the erosion problem caused by Chocho river. Different hydraulic structures has been established as solution alternatives and it has been analyzed in a reduced hydraulic model, searching the structure with lowest energy values. In the analysis the average historic discharge and the maximum historic discharge was used in the model, founding as the ideal structure a combination of a break water to reduce the flow speed and direct protection on the border using concrete bags
