Abstract
Urban space in Bogota, especially in commercial sectors, is invaded by a series of objects that can be easily seen by pedestrians. Except for advertising purposes, current law does not cover the effect caused by this. Atypical elements are those that do not belong to the original urban environment; elements that are visually identified as something put over a surface designed for a different purpose and, in general, elements that contribute to the decay of the environment in which it is located. Due to the exaggerated visual pollution, the present study is related to the fact that there is still no clear support in order to create rules related to the quality of the façade of buildings, the presence of objects in public space and the measurement of the impact this may have in the population. The proposal comes from undergraduate theses carried out by Sanitary and Environmental Engineering students from La Salle University. The program identified 15 elements other than advertising that impact the urban landscape. This proposal has become an input for the design of a recording and visual identification method, and in the medium term, the expectation is to propose a formal investigation in the city
