Abstract
Resilience is the capacity that human systems have: individual, families, groups and communities, to overcome successes fully the adversities, get strength from them and at the same time learn from those experiences. Although this concept has entered in fields such as social sciences and health, in the profession of social work, it has just started to playa role, especially in spaces of interdisciplinary intervention. This article establishes the current state of resilience and its approaches that can enrich the professional practice. The research was developed starting from the existent production about resilience at a national and Hispano-American level, and also taking in mind the production translated to Spanish in the period of 1998-2004 and it is complemented with incomes of teacher social workers specialized in family, who belong to the academic units of social work in Bogotá, they were asked as a source of support in this research project, to identify from the professional practice the approaches of resilience.
