The Social Impact of Organ Donation in Colombia

Abstract

The article discusses the current problematic regarding organ donation in the social, cultural and political context in Colombia, where the legal scenario provides the regulations for conducts related to organ transplant, for which a brief framework is presented. In the same manner, the social imaginaries regarding the issue are presented and it is defined as an altruistic act that refers to seeking welfare for others, in which a progressive change in the way of thinking of Colombians should be aimed for.
