Abstract
The present document is the result of a wide literature review in relation to an issue that has generated great interest, especially in the sphere of social sciences: the role played by the so-called social economy companies as managers and promoters of development, in favor of certain sectors of the population that are excluded from the prevailing capitalist model. In this case, the analysis will be carried out in three organizational structures assumed by said enterprises: third sector, non-government organizations (NGO) and non-profit organizations (NPO).
