Abstract
The paper presents the results of the research on social representations, discourses and practices on social intervention by Social Work students from the University of Cartagena (Colombia). The information, of exploratory nature, was gathered through semi-structured interviews aimed at a purposive sample thereof, in order to analyze the emerging discourses that reflect the multiple and diverse reflections and professional actions generated by this subject in terms of epistemological, theoretical, conceptual and methodological aspects, which is of interest to higher education in social work, because this form —precisely for this type of intervention— is a way to validate and understand the teaching and learning process.
