Abstract
Entrepreneurs are methodical and take insurable risks; the motivations of an individual to create a company include the self-realization, the wish for independence and the desire to improve their income. Entrepreneurship is common worldwide, but creating business amidst poverty and informality is different, as is the case of the displaced population (PSD) in Colombia; there are no concrete figures about them and their companies. The State, through Acción Social, provides each person with capital to generate a productive project. The total number of displaced families is 672 604 in 2009 who, between 2002 and 2008, received more than 163 billion pesos for productive projects 84 790 families in the country and 9 903 families in Bogota. The Comprehensive Plan of Action for the Population Displaced by Violence Nationwide has the goal of assisting the development of productive projects. Due to the conditions faced by the PSD, their businesses, in general, are small and low-income generators; these entrepreneurs require complete processes of awareness and motivation to identify business opportunities that are proportionate to their abilities
