Caridad en la verdad: un desafío político para un desarrollo humano integral

Abstract

The latest encyclical letter Caritas in Veritate by Pope Benedict XVI is a worthy argumentation compilation for applying concepts (policies) of integral human development which demand faith and moral insights as well as reason. Such reflections have a similar expression in relevant scientific hypothesizes of economic theory; therefore a crucial political commitment has been spawn for the civil society to generate a change towards such an ideal of comprehensive human development. Thus, the encyclical letter is a double requirement for us as members of the academic community besides the genuine commitment with the truth (supporting charity), i.e. the search for mechanisms in order to the knowledge has implications for “polis.”
