Aproximación al estado de la investigación en Empresas de Familia en Colombia: 1989-2009

Abstract

The family businesses subject has been increasingly relevant today in Colombia. This is reflected on the increasing number of articles published in business magazines such as Dinero, or academic journals such as Universidad Javeriana’s Cuadernos de Administración, Revista Universidad EAFIT, Estudios Gerenciales, Revista EAN, Pensamiento y Gestión, and Lupa Empresarial, among others. This interest can also be seen on researches conducted by State institutions such as Superintendence of Commerce; private organizations such as Fundes, Bogotá Chamber of Commerce; and higher education institutions included in their Management Academic Programs such as ICESI, La Sabana, La Salle, EAN, Los Andes, Externado de Colombia, as well as symposiums, seminars, conferences and graduate courses offered by several institutions and consulting firms. The aim of this work is to account during a specific period about developments made in this subject in our country, and it is expected a mandatory reference especially for researches, teachers, students and those interested in studying family businesses.
