Laboratory assessment of a cyanides photocatalytic destruction system

Abstract

Analysis of laboratory of Advanced Oxidation through Homogeneous and Heterogeneous Photocatalysis for the treatment of cyanides solutions elaborated in laboratory and cyanides waste water, coming from different productive sectors, were carried out in order to determine if the system reduced the concentration of cyanides in those samples. The tests showed that homogeneous Photocatalysis reduced the concentration of cyanide of the samples below the permissible maximum concentration for waste water, while the heterogeneous one was not effective, where the operation variable with higher influence is the dose of peroxide
