Use of microwave oven to dry fine soil in Bogotá - Colombia

Abstract

In this research the time to dry samples of fine soils from different places in Bogotá city was determined using the microwave oven as a drying method. Besides, tests of characterization for used samples were done during the experimental development before and after the drying in the laboratory using conventional and microwave oven, determining and analyzing the variations presented in them. Those results are satisfactory with minimum variation compared to the conventional method
