Pollution at the high basin of the Bogota river: diagnosis and testing

Abstract

Performed a review of important literature records from the year 1968, on the assessment of pollution in the high basin of the Bogotá river and elaboration of proposals for implementing behaviors and tendings management plans the solution of problems and environmental improvement. Design and run an experiment with crops: pea, bean, and ray-grass, in order to see how the water from the river irrigation could influence the presence of toxic elements in the final product. We found that the problem is severe friendly in general, because they affect individuals in trophic chains. The proposals on: recommendations for the conduct, local management plans, and regional plans have already been published and are viable. Apart from wanting to inhabitants of the region, would be very important support and state policies. With the accomplished experiment found the presence of lead (Pb) and chromium (Cr) in these crops, suggesting that products area, are obvious risks to animal and human health
