Abstract
The geographical location of the La Salle University campuses and the physical characteristics that surround them are determinant factors to explain the climatic conditions that are present in the daily life of the Lasallian academic community located in Bogota. These campuses are located at the lower foothills of the Eastern Mountains (Cordillera Oriental), a mountain range that constitutes the border of the city and that, due to its height and orientation, acts as a modifying factor of the prevailing weather conditions in the area. Given these considerations, the goal was to explain the special behavior at the foothills of certain parameters throughout the year, such as rainfall, temperature, humidity, air, sunshine and wind. It was established that the campuses are located on the most humid and rainy sector of the city, where daylight hours are reduced over a long period of the year due to the continuous formation of orographic clouds and where cold drafts often come down from the mountain
