Colombian Sheep Farming Technology: State of the Art

Abstract

This paper is the result of the basic disciplinary state of the art conducted, in a qualitative manner, to establish the status of the current technology in sheep production. For this purpose, a group of 44 experts was consulted, ninety specialized analytical abstracts were applied, as well as an equal number of documents related to genetic technologies and reproduction, food and the nutrition, sanitation and health of the sheep. As a result, a low to medium transitional technological condition was observed, with ample opportunities for development in favor of the production and competitiveness of the sub-sector at a national level.
