Profession and profesionalization: an ethical perspective of the abilities in social work

Abstract

The article looks for explicit the relationship among the professional action, the profesionalization and the abilities. The professions, from the beginning of the modern society, have tried to regulate the social life, through the labor world. In this sense the nexus between knowledge and power is to the base of the social recognition of any profession. The world of the abilities with out a wide discussion of the professional world, cannot be, neither of an analysis of the professional action. The abilities like they are used in the current bibliography, are part of a new concept applied to the analysis of the human resources in the companies, to the analysis of the professions and of the social organizations. In the French tradition, the concept refers to four environments: To the historical fellow that learns or it exercises the ability To the relationship among employers and salaried To the recovery of the occupation in the ability To the ethical aspect This analysis precise topics that should be deepened from the professional world. The category of abilities puts in the center of the discussion the exercise of the occupation. The abilities forward us to a conception of the human and professional action, in which the fellow is an actuante and actor of his professional world. The professional action has premeditation or an end to reach, a professional ethos. The end of the Social Work, it should be the ethical positioning on that that suits to make when it is sought to help people in difficulty.
