An approach to the concept of ‘the social’ thing for social work

Abstract

This article is based in the investigation “The Concept of “social issues” for Social Work: a look from a group of practitioners” developed in 2007, opting for the title of master in educational and Social development in the Pedagogical National University CINDE Convention, the proposed target of the investigation was to analyse what the professionals of Social Work is understood as “social issues” from their exercise, and enable the establishment of conceptual elements of the term from the various professionals stages of life. In the research of a qualitative nature, comprehensive, sought to specify important properties of concept about social issues are the professionals allowing its conceptual foundation from their knowledge and experiences. The analysis was organized parent descriptive information that resulted in an approach to parsing and semantic, taking into account the speeches of individual interviews, the matrix contains components such as the interpretation made by the researcher, and emerging categories the meaning given to each category emerging what later gave way to the construction of the concept object of study. The results show the process of constructing the concept of “social issues” from the analysis of literature found at the same time, based on the concepts issued by the professionals. It is clear that for the article was not taken into account all information contained in the investigative process.
