Abstract
This article presents the findings and reflections based on a research named Social Imaginaries on the Political Event of Alvaro Uribe Velez’s Presidential Reelection. It starts with the analysis and interpretation of this event in light of political arguments and explores a historical interpretation of the country’s political culture to reach a sociocultural matrix made up by three social imaginaries that constitute a symbolic outline of sense. Thus, said imaginaries are presented as a comprehension horizon of a political event from sense logics that refer to the construction of a social reality from psycho-cultural dynamics.
